Becoming a RON in Florida can seem intimidating and difficult. Here is a step by step outline to be able to become a licensed RON.
1. You must already be an existing Florida notary. See my previous article on how to do that.
2. You need to complete a Remote Online Notary Public Education Course. Here is a list of acceptable courses through Florida.

3. Contract with an approved vendor prior to application.

If you have questions specifically about Notarize or Blue Notary, reach out. There are additionally some Facebook groups that have information and helpful guides.
4. Complete the application form "Online Notary Public information form" and form DOC 1N-7 and include a for $10 by check payable to the Florida Department of State.
5. Review RON specific laws Chapter 2019-71 and 1N-7001, Florida Administrative Code
This one is important. You accept liability when performing these notarizations. Due diligence to stop fraud and comply with all laws is extremely important with serious implications.
There is usually additional steps needed to be commissioned by each additional platform, and I will be going over that for both Notarize and Blue Notary soon.
You can sign up for Blue Notary here:

The most notable is that you need to take a National Notary Association Loan Signing course for Notarize prior to being accepted into the platform.
For certain platforms to get into the programs that provide clients, you usually will need to increase your liability insurance.
It varies by platform and can be a little confusing but piece by piece is usually the best way to go.
One of the best things I did was take an online course on how to start. There are some options out there, but I will attach the one I found most helpful.
This one goes over everything that I had to stumble my way through when I was first starting.
The usual price for the course is $179.
If you use the code KATIET you will get access to the course at a reduced fee.

If you have any questions, reach out and I will do my best to point you in the right direction.

Katie went above and beyond for me to notarize my divorce paperwork. She is very professional and accommodating. I would definitely recommend her for all your notary needs.
My loan signing went incredibly smoothly. Everything was notarized, not one error, which often happens in a loan closing. Very pleased.
I had no idea that this kind of service existed, but I am so glad I did...Katie made the whole process very easy. I really like the fact that she can provide virtual services so I don't have to drive across town or coordinate schedules.
Pleasure to work with, great communicator that get the task done!
