  2. Completing the Application Process

    • Third-Party Vendor: You will need to go through a state-approved third-party vendor to process all required documents. These vendors will guide you through the application process, including obtaining the necessary bonds and notary seal.

    • Costs: The state fee is a fixed $39, but you will also need to budget for the bond premium and notary seal. Make sure to shop around for the best deals.

  3. Receiving Certification and Bond

    • Certification: Once your application is approved, you will receive your certification and notary bond by mail. Save your certification on your computer for easy access and mark the expiration date to ensure timely renewal.

Managing Your Notary Career

  • Record Keeping: Keep all your notary-related documents and certifications in one folder for easy access. This includes a screenshot of your notary search results showing your valid commission.

  • Renewal: Mark your renewal dates and renew your notary commission early to avoid any disruptions in your business.

  • Business Cards: Use Canva to create professional business cards.

  • Networking: Attend community events, workshops, and conferences to promote your services.
